Yup! That's me!
About age 4 and already wearing an apron and very excited (although for some reason I don't look it here) about my brand new Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven I had just received for my birthday. Is it possible I knew somehow even then that I would become someone who loved to cook?
Cooking and entertaining is something I have always greatly enjoyed. Despite several interesting and successful career directions, at the end of even the most exhausting day, what I have always looked forward to most is coming home after work, pouring a glass of wine, flipping through my cookbooks and beginning the relaxing process of chopping, stirring, blending and creating dinner- whether for myself or for friends and family. I get such joy out of seeing other people enjoying the food I make them. It is a lovely way of caring for and nourishing the people you adore- not just their bodies, but their soul and spirits too!
The name "Pamela's Pantry" reflects the fact that my friends would often peek in my fridge and complain that I had no "food" and then would be surprised when I would seemingly whip something delicious up out of nothing. Apparently "food" to them was the sort of ready made items that could be pulled from the freezer and popped into the microwave! I would always tell them that maybe I didn't have food, but I had ingredients! I've always been able to whip something yummy up from whatever I have on hand, hence the name "Pamela's Pantry".
"Cooking is like love, it should be entered into with abandon or not at all."
